A: The Excimer laser is a cutting-edge laser treatment for the skin of patients with Psoriasis, Atopic Dermatitis and Vitiligo. It delivers a highly targeted, therapeutic beam of UVB light only to the areas of the skin that are affected, leaving healthy surrounding skin alone. By utilizing the 308nm wavelength exclusively, which has been studied scientifically for years, the Excimer can deliver powerful efficacy and serious safety in these conditions. A: The Excimer delivers results in a fast, safe and convenient way for patients. Patient with Psoriasis and Atopic Dermatitis start to see results within the 1st month and can remain symptom free for several months after treatment stops. It is performed in the convenience of the office, so you do not have to manage any messy creams, pills, injection materials or pharmacy mishaps. It does not have the side effects that creams, pills or injections carry and can be used in combination with any other treatment you are using. For anyone trying to avoid systemic treatments (pills, injections), this is for you!

A: For Psoriasis and Atopic Dermatitis, we generally prescribe a series of 20 treatments. These can be performed 2 or 3 times per week in the office, usually taking less then 15 minutes for treatment session. You do not have to do anything special before your treatment, just avoid any prescription topical medications you might be using. You can do this early in the day before work and not have any restrictions. Our staff will perform the treatments, ensuring an optimal experience and best results. It is for the majority of patients a painless treatment, but sometimes a sunburn-like reaction can occur if the skin is sensitive. For Vitiligo, we generally prescribe 30 treatments, performed three days per week.

A: Treatments are available Monday thru Friday and one Saturday/month during clinic hours. Our board-certified dermatologist supervises/medically directs the treatments on you.
