Rubin

Dr. Rubin graduated Magna Cum Laude from both the University of Rochester for his undergraduate education and the Sydney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University for his medical doctorate (MD). He completed his dermatology residency training at the University of Michigan in 2014. He opened the Michigan Dermatology Institute in Waterford in 2019 and in Livonia in 2024. He also sees patients for a dermatology residency clinic in Ypsilanti once monthly as clinical faculty.

Dr. Rubin was born and raised outside of Philadelphia but has called the Detroit suburbs home since 2007. He is happily married to his wife Barb with 5 kids, 2 dogs and 5 cats. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing ice hockey and traveling.

Professionally, Dr. Rubin is an assistant professor at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and Wayne State University. He teaches residents with the Trinity Health Dermatology Residency Program, McLaren Family Medicine Residency Program, and medical students with St. Martinus Medical School. He is active with the American Academy of Dermatology participating with several committees and JCAD as a special section Editor.

Dr. Rubin specializes in inflammatory skin disease (Psoriasis, Atopic Dermatitis/Eczema, Hidradenitis Suppurativa, Chronic Urticaria/Hives, Vitiligo, Alopecia Areata, Auto-immune conditions, Acne, Rosacea, CTCL, etc). He has an active clinical research unit helping to develop treatments for his patients and lectures nationally on these topics. He takes care of all skin conditions and all patients (including kids).
